Eruption - steps by TitusLunter Eruption - steps by TitusLunter
As requested the steps to the painting eruption.
A total of 18 WIP shots - had to scale it down a tad, it was getting super big. And downsizing 18 images from 6500 to 1k is a pain.

6500 is overkill. You dont need more than 4k, if even

depends what you want to use it for. I print stuff on 2meters wide; even at 300 dpi 4000 is lacking. Movie industry standard is 5.5k and for mattes it's 9k. For concept work then 3k is enough; but for non-screen presentation you really need to go beyond 4.

Ok whatever works for you.
Dylan Cole said he works at 4k which is twice blu-ray, its all crunched down for movies, I don't know about print, that is different.

Well, in the end it's preference. Feng Zhu says he likes to work at 6k and up for productions, people I worked for said the same. But there is certainly no rule against going over 4k, just takes more time.

I don't really get the idea of the final result, but it was fun to see how did you make it to the final step. - thanks for sharing!

No problem XD
What do you mean tho; by not getting the idea - what it is, or what the meaning of the painting is.

Well, when I saw it for the first time I thought that it's some kind of "stone forest", and smoke coming up looked like trees some how.
Maybe I looked like "a birth of a god" or something.

Then I read a title of it : ) and now it looks like it. (just sayn' it didn't for the first time ^^)

Anyways I love the technique and the skill. Keep on doing amazing stuff ^o^

It always feels like I can just climb into your artworks, and explore the amazing areas and scenes you create... they are so gosh darn beautiful!!! :la:

However... I think I shall not climb into this particular one... I'm not too fond of getting myself all melted!
Oh and I really love all your Step by steps!!! they really do help us a lot!!! :D
